Re: The ground level - in and out
Morning
yeah .. I still exist ....
Wasn't a woman shot on new years eve in .. Berlin ? ... or so? They first though it was fireworks but apparently someone used the sound background and just short her. Can't say if anything more came out of that yet though.
Well - it's one thing to give the music-handling to someone else, it's a comeplete different thing to pick someone incompetent. There are still 3, maybe 4 people out there I would see able to pick that up (I would be still here for Ramin Djawadi - he showed creativity for creating something new and fitting as well as handling already existing pieces with care and ability). One cna only hope they'll be more pickish with the composer for the movie.
I'm tired.

Hey, Elyris - I was already wondering where you are.
Didn't hear of that woman, but if it's true... well, there are just too many assholes in the world.
Music: I'm with you here. That's gonna be a real challenge and I hope they're gonna be indeed picky. The music was a great part of the magic of the movie.

Re: The ground level - in and out
Music is one of the most important parts of any movie. A well made movie will suck with bad music and a goofy, cheesy or otherwise 'lacking' (let's be true: more often than not what is acclaimed by critics will meet only lukewarm response by actual audiences and the other way around .. The Thing from John Carpenter for example) are improved a LOT with a good score. Music to a film is a bit like an Obi - the whole can fall or rise with this element.

It's partly the weather, I guess. Couldn't get out of bed too this morning. It's just too dark outside.
I've been staring at that item in your picture for a while now, wondering why it's problematic at all. Of course I know what it is, but why is it annoying?

Have you ever tried to clean it? It get really flithy really fast and does next to nothing to keep smaller itmes from going dwon the drain. It's impractical in every sense possible and doesn't even look that much better than what was used before. It's an absoluetly unnecessary 'innovation' that doesn't earn such a designation.
Hm. I don#t really mind the cold or the dark. It's jsut my depressions getting worse (nothing to wonder about).

Not many over-hours left here... I've taken a few of them in the last time.
Luckily not for things like your Schornsteinfeger or the guy who wants to check the heating, that's the advantage of being able to work from home too.

Running on 3 hours of sleep means you're not running at all. I'm tired.
Well - sadly this doesn't seem to be something I'll be allowed to do anytime soon (my official boss comes back today - only 3 months after the brith of her son - and she's even more nonsensical bonkers than the rest of the people who get to decide such things). I am also tires of stuff like this.

Ewwww - yeah, I know, some companies are weird like this.
And running on 3 hours of sleep is like sleepwalking
I feel tired just reading it.
But at least it's Friday!

Re: The ground level - in and out
During August 2018, I was doing 3 jobs. 8 AM to 4 PM major (very poorly paid job under poor conditions), then from 5 PM till 9:30 PM what I now do full time and, finally, from 10 PM till 6 AM next day the call centre job (that one 3 days on, 3 days off). After a month, I quit the call centre job and that poorly paid main job, and started full time the IT support job I have now. During that one month, I felt almost constantly sick. Simply, 2-3 hours of sleep a day is not healthy, as simple as that.

Nope. Definitely not. Lack of sleep is a form of torture, after all.

Re: The ground level - in and out
Shouts to you, flighter, for working three jobs! Respect for that. I only have the one job, and that's enough for me.
Good afternoon to everybody on a Sunday afternoon from here in the States! If you're in a different timezone, Good Morning or Good Night, whatever one it is.
Eh, you do what you have to do, to feed the family, even if that is unhealthy. 3 jobs lasted for about a month. What was making it easier was that the night shifts were 3 days on, 3 days off, so I could recharge my batteries, especially if night shifts include the weekend when I don't work other two jobs.
Now I am doing a single job, and of course looking for even better opportunities.

'modern lifestyle' is deadly. Simple as that.
Oh hey *waves*
Pain -> not enough sleep -> painkillers -> feeling sick
yay.

Re: The ground level - in and out
Yeah, stress, lack of sleep, blood pressure goes off the scale, causes headache, you take the meds to stop the pain, which doesn't treat the cause, only the symptoms and one day, KABOOOOOM, you are dead.
My blood pressure is generally between 130/90 and 120/80. 2 days ago, I felt funny so I checked it, it was nearly 150 over something, can't remember exactly. Not good. 2 sandwiches with more garlic than actual spread took care of it faster than any medicine could. Wife checked me 30 minutes later and it was just normal, and I slept like a baby, in the middle of the day, lol.

Re: The ground level - in and out
Good morning!
Just checking in quickly to say hi. Going to wrap things up as fast as I can at work this morning as the snow is piling up outside. 20cm so far when I got to work an hour and a half ago at 1am, supposed to accumulate to 25cm by 3am. Going to be a slow drive home. Had another 10cm of snow yesterday, so that's 35cm total in less than 24hrs. It's a good thing that most of the other 30cm of snow we got last week had mostly melted. I'm running out of places to pile it when I shovel the driveway.

Ahhh - the combination of an accident and trade fair traffic in the morning. I soooooo love it. Not.
@Nawm: we can measure our snow here (if we have any) in mm, not cm.
Get home safely.
