Happy New Year everyone :)

Me, I'm starting the new work year with calling in sick... nothing than being on a short holiday trip over New Years Eve and getting the flu right the second day. Not.

Morning!

I was working double shifts (overlapping a bit), from 10:00 till 17:00 and from 16:00 till 01:00... so just now I got the info that I did not have to work the morning shift since new year :D

Ah, I can have some rest

Merry Belated Christmas and Happy Belated New Year!

(Better late than never?) :hee:

Spent a week in the Nederland with Ato's family over Christmas break. Man, New Year's Eve is always so insane there with everyone setting off fireworks everywhere! Went to Den Haag to see The Lion King musical. It was all in Dutch, but I can understand little bits here and there, and of course I've seen the movie so I knew what was going on. Hakuna Matata is the same in any language right?

Did you hear that Disney has released the soundtrack for the Pandora theme park on itunes? If they are releasing it for sale, then people must have been asking for it, right? That's a good sign. Less than 2 more years to go until the next Avatar movie. (How many times have we said that already?) I hope Disney has some kind of new attraction planned for the Pandora park to coincide with the new films.

As long as it is only fireworks, it's fine... here, they don't always restrict themselves to fireworks :D

Nearly 20 years after the last armed conflict is not enough for people to get rid of weapons. Some find it appropriate to fire into the air (and most of them, but not all, do it safely). It involves pistols, riffles, AK47s... Luckily for all of us on higher floors, it happens less and less (are they out of ammo?).

'Morning.

So, we purchased the Disney Pandora soundtrack from itunes. Listening to it makes us want to go back to Pandora again. Sadly though you can tell the difference between musical arrangements composed by James Horner and those composed by Simon Franglen. Franglen's pieces tend to sound a little more Earth-like instrumentally than Horner's compositions, especially one piece by Franglen that made us laugh out loud because it sounds like a Vegas Lounge version of Na'vi music. We didn't remember hearing that one when we were at the Satu'li Canteen restaurant.

Our local comic book store didn't order the Dark Horse Avatar -Tsu'tey's Path comic, so we had them order it in for us, as well as issues 2 & 3 that will be released in Feb. & March. It will take 2 weeks for the issue that was released yesterday to arrive at the store, but because they pre-ordered the next 2 issues for us, we'll get them the day they are released. You can also buy digital versions of the comic from the Dark Horse web site, but we preferred the physical copy.

And the Pandora soundtrack and Avatar comic got us back in the Avatar mood again, so we're doing some more work on our Avatar themed bedroom. I'll be installing a perch for Ato's baby ikran that we got at Windtraders on Pandora and working on the 1.5m diorama above the bed, and Ato is going to start working on detailing the wall sized mural with glow-in-the-dark paints. She spent several weeks searching for and testing different glow-paints for colour and bioluminescence. We'll install a blacklight once its done to bring it all to life at night. Got to try and squeeze this in now before we get super busy working on effects for 2 films next month.

Whoah.... Iknimaya live

Music: Well, he's a different composer, and actually that's what I've been a bit afraid of. I really, really regret the untimely death of James Horner, not just cause it's always a bad and sad thing when someone dies, but also cause I wondered if someone else will have the grip on that Na'vi spirit in music.

Oh, and I know it's not really appropriate to ask other people for bedroom pictures, but I'd really love to see a piccie of the diorama once it's paintet with glow-in-the-dark paint.

@flighter: Ugh... alright, that sucks. I thought people would hate anythng weapon-like after that.

Morning everyone :)
