PC vs. Mac

Post by flighter »

I was wondering, is any of us here using Mac to access this site?

For the first time, I have tried with my Mac mini in the office.

Arghhhh... I hate when I forget laptop charger at home.

I used a Macbook one time. It was okay, but I wasn't too impressed with it; most likely because I've used PCs my whole life. The price was the main negative mark.

Well, these days, when it comes to high-end machines, prices are quite comparable...

For instance, when I got this laptop, I was looking at both Sony VAIO-Z and Mac Book Pro... with retina screen, similar CPU, memory, SSD drive etc. Prices were not so much different.

If I liked what Apple had to offer more at the similar price, I wouldn't mind geting their product. But then, how do I run MS SQL Server, MS Visual Studio, Corel Draw... and many other MS-specific programs?

At work, this Mac Mini is controlling the CNC machine, but can be used for other things as well. It performs very well, no problems with it at all for past 2 years.

I think that Mac is really worth it if you're going to use music, video or art softwares. If you're just going to use facebook and the forum I honestly wouldn't suggest it.
Peace.

^ What shee said!

Mac never gets any good upgrades either. When they get a new model out they say it is soooooo much better than the last one but in reality they only change a few bugs in the software! And you can't upgrade any hardware yourself... :skeptical:

A pc you can upgrade the hardware and the software as you wish! :heeyy:
When in doubt, run in tiny little circles!

I do have to say one good thing about a Mac is that they are very portable.

Portability... true, absolutely, at least for Mac Book Air... but Mac Book Pro is as bulky as my VAIO F Series (16 inches).

Now I am very seriously looking at VAIO PRO 13.
