Last time you saw Avatar?
When is the last time you saw Avatar, and how did you experience it? Does your mind still get blown out when you see it?
(now we'll be able to tell who are the real Avatards *grin*)
Ok, I'll go first: Nawm and I watched it just a few weeks ago (very Avatard!), but to my big shame I have to admit that I almost fell asleep during the war scene (not very Avatard).

I was testing new screen in the office (I think 55 inches plasma or something of that size)... and to prove how good it is, I loaded a BlueRay rip onto it... everyone in the office was amazed, to say the least, and we kept watching it.

Its been months.
It could have been possible to see it again in the IMAX at the Liberty Science Center here in NJ, but I didn't get to.

Re: Last time you saw Avatar?
While I was visiting my mom over the summer, I caught parts of Avatar on FX one night.
About a couple days later, nothing good was on TV, so I watched the extended edition Blu-Ray that my mom had.
That was the first time I watched Avatar in well over a year.

Re: Last time you saw Avatar?
Last year in spring... there was this movie festival in the region. Most of the movies were very, um, esoteric, but for some reason they decided to show Avatar too (for the environmental message) and of course I went to both showings in the theaters near me
Haven't watched it at home for several reasons.

I watched it last week while I was doing some sewing. I have a tv right next to my sewing table. I probably watch it about once a month now. I used to watch it wayyyyy to frequently.

It's been a long time. It stopped being as much fun when the community faded out. Nearly every scene has some sort of in-joke that serves as a reminder of people that disappeared.

Well, it would be hard to expect to have like 1-2000 active users and for all of them to keep the same level of dedication which will keep them active. Anyway, if I get the database backup, all members will get an e-mail invitation to visit us and, if they like the place, stay.

Re: Last time you saw Avatar?
The last time I watched Avatar was in May, with two other clanmates, on a big screen in 3D, at the Liberty Science Center, NJ. It was during the final weekend of the Avatar Exhibition, and it was the first time in a long while that I had seen Avatar in 3D, and among a mostly non-Avatar-fan based audience. In fact, I had almost forgotten how EPIC it is watching the movie in 3D (since I've seen it without 3D so many times). Well, I can say it was SO awesome...and yes, watching it still blows my mind!
Sadly, I missed out on attending this summer's AvatarMeet at Shenandoah National Park, so I didn't get to watch Avatar with the group there...but I'm planning my next viewing of Avatar to be at home on New Year's Eve, watching the CE Blu-ray on my big TV screen. I try to watch it every New Year's Eve since that's when I saw Avatar for the very first time -- New Year's Eve 2009. It marks the anniversary of my first trip to Pandora.

Re: Last time you saw Avatar?
Its sad to say that I don't even remember when I saw Avatar in its entirety.
I've watched bits of it off and on on my iPad since this past May but as far was watching the bluray I don't even remember. I daresay that it is approaching a year.
But I'll definitely have to watch it during this holiday season for the anniversary.

But in her defense, it has been quite a busy couple of months. Sometimes I wish there was a 90 minute version of Avatar for when you need a quick fix.Atokirina wrote:When is the last time you saw Avatar, and how did you experience it? Does your mind still get blown out when you see it?

Re: Last time you saw Avatar?
Ato and I watched it again just last week (or was it the week before?) That makes 76 viewings for me, high 30's for Ato. Got another co-worker who has seen Avatar (at work with me on a 60" HD monitor back when the Collector's Edition came out) but he's still never seen it in 3D and has been asking when I can come in to work early on a Sunday night with my 3D copy so we can watch it on the 3D TV at work. So there will be another 3D viewing sometime in my near future. I'm hoping to time my 100th viewing with the release of Avatar 2 at the end of 2016, but it's not like I'm gonna stop watching it if I happen to hit 100 viewings before then.

Re: Last time you saw Avatar?
Just got my Avatar-fix for the day.
Been to the local electronics dealer (wanted to stock up on a few blurays) and dang if they hadn't a) decorated an Avatar poster showing Jake being accepted in the Clan above the bluray section and b) when I left the market had a special offering of TVs with one of those demo tapes running.
It was the Gathering of the Clans. Gee - I've seen that so many times now, and still it gives me the goosebumps every. single. time!
Yepp, you people in my market... the middle-aged, overweight woman with the stupid grin on her face watching the Avatar demo in the exit, standing in everybody's way, that was me

Re: Last time you saw Avatar?
Well, now that I finally have my equipment set up (couch, little board to place TV on, TV, bluray player) I started watching a few TV shows on bluray; usually when I'm sick. So I was about to buy the next two seasons of Grimm.

Re: Last time you saw Avatar?
It's December 18th, 2015 today, and for North America it was 6 years ago today that Avatar was first released in theaters. Atokirina, my kids and I are going to celebrate by watching Avatar together tonight. That will be viewing number 88 for me. Oh, and we got our tickets for Toruk - First Flight that we'll be seeing in January.
Happy 6th Avatar Anniversary everyone!
